Frequently
Asked Questions
Q: Can I send it back after
I've received it?
A: The short answer is No.
Unless the item you bought and received is in a damaged condition,
or it is obviously not the item represented in the ad, or if the
description does not match the actual item received, no requests
for refunds will be honored. We must stress the importance of the
buyer being aware of what the item is, and resolving all questions
related to the item prior to placing the order to purchase the item.
In other words, know what you are buying. Of course in certain
circumstances, alternative arrangements may be agreed upon.
NOTE: This policy does not apply to items which are NOT Consignment
Sales items such as our custom jewelry, tin signs, kitchen decor,
and other directly sold items. If in doubt, ask
us.
Q: I bought a doll from you
today. How long will it take to receive it?
A: That depends. As soon as
I receive notice of the sale, I send an email message to the seller.
Our seller clients are all individual collectors. They are not businesses.
Not everyone checks their email as often as I do, so it may be a
couple of days before I hear back from the seller. If I have not
heard from the seller in a timely manner, I will try to contact
him or her by phone. In truth, for the most part, our sellers have
been prompt to reply, and in sending the sold items to their buyers.
Please be patient, a seller may be away on vacation and not reachable
for a few days.
Q: I would like to know more
information about one of the items on your site. Can I request it?
A: Absolutely! I will try to
obtain that info for you. Again, please be patient. It may take
a couple of days before I hear back from the seller.
Q: Is it possible for me to
contact a seller directly?
A: Sorry, no. We must respect
our sellers privacy. If you have bought something from a seller
through us, and upon receiving that item, the seller has provided
you with their contact info, then any contact is between you and
that seller.
Q: How firm is the selling
price? Can I make an offer of a lower price?
A: That is not a common request,
but it's not an unreasonable one. If your counter offer is fair,
I'll be happy to pass it on to the seller. You never know. They
might accept it. I will not pass on frivolous low ball offers, however.
Q: Where are these items kept?
Do you have them?
A: In most cases, the sellers
retain possession of their items.
Q: I am looking for <such
and such>. Do you have any of those?
A: If you don't see it on our
Web site, we do not have it. Remember this, just because we don't
have it now does not mean we will not have it in the future. We
hope that you will come back and visit our site often. We're always
adding new things.
Q: I see that some things you
sell offer free shipping for sales over $100.00. Why do you charge
shipping for dolls and other consignment items.
A: For items we buy at wholesale
and resell, our profit margin is kept slim to offer you the best
prices possible. The larger your order, the easier it is for us
to offer you the return benefit of a discount in the form of free
shipping. That limit of course is $100.00. We can not do the same
with consignment items. Our sellers have determined what they need
to receive for their items. Generally consignment items from any
one seller are sold one item at a time. The seller has to pay shipping
in order to send the sold item to the buyer. Thus to recoup their
costs, the cost of shipping must be passed on to the buyer. This
is standard practice in consignment sales.
Q: Can I buy using "lay
away"?
A: Yes. There are some conditions
however. We can only put items on lay away which we are selling
through our consignment service. All of those items are identified
as being sold on behalf of individual sellers. There is a maximum
time we will hold an item. That is, 30 days. If the final payment
is not received by then, we will return your initial payment and
remove the item from hold. During the time the item is held from
you, it will still be displayed but we will note that it is being
held pending a sale and even if someone offers the full price during
that hold time, it will remain locked for you. If you wish to buy
an item this way, please notify us of your intent ahead of time.
Let us know which item or items you wish held, for how long and
the amount you wish to pay initially. We can not hold items without
an initial down payment. The amount of the down payment is not fixed
but we prefer at least 25% of the selling price. Please follow our
instructions on how to send a down payment and subsequent payments.
As soon as the final payment is received, the item will be released
to be shipped to you.
Q: I cannot find your email address listed on this Web site. How come? How can we contact you?
A: You absolutely can contact us through email. No, our email address is not published on this Web site. There are no email addresses displayed on this site. We have intentionally kept them off the site to protect against abuse by spammers. Anywhere you see a link on the site which says "Contact Us" or "Email Us" or something to that affect, that will allow you to send us a message by email.
